How do I Sign up for Paypal Shops?

If you log into your PayPal account and browse to My Account -> Profile, you'll notice a new item, PayPal Shops. If you click on it, you'll be taken to a page titled Website Registration. On this page, PayPal advertises a service that offers to expose your website to an audience of over 150 million PayPal members.

What Is PayPal Shops?

By registering your site with PayPal (the URL, title, category, and a short description), it will be listed In PayPal Shops. PayPal Shops is not only a way to bring sellers together that offer PayPal as a payment option, it also helps build a community around PayPal, drive more sales for PayPal, and help incentivize sellers to offer PayPal as a payment method on their websites.

What's in It for the Sellers?

While we're not sure how many people access to PayPal Shops directory directly, with all the relationships PayPal has with prominent vendors and service providers, there are many ways for your shop to gain exposure. The question is, when you are competing against millions of other PayPal Shops, what are the odds of getting exposure directly? We feel the greater benefit lies in a simple feature that PayPal Shops offers - website registration.

What Is PayPal's Website Registration?

When you sign up for Paypal Shops via the method outlined above, your website will be registered with PayPal, and you will gain access to a feature that places a link to your website, and an invitation to visit it, every time anyone sends you a payment using PayPal. What does it say exactly? The Money Sent confirmation page will have the usual "You have sent cash! An e-mail has been sent to the recipient." Beneath that, the following text will be added: You can visit this PayPal members website by clicking the link below: example.com - site description. We feel this could potentially provide a huge benefit given that the message is displayed on a clean, uncluttered, and ad free page, and one that users will see whenever they send a payment. If you have enough people sending you money on a regular basis, there will no doubt be a percentage of which will click through to your website. Every additional set of eyes helps!
